One of the most romantic songs to have surfaced of late, it has some striking lyrics by Chopra. 'Tu Mere Paas' is composed and sung by Ankit Tiwari in his quintessential melodic style. 'Maula' is a soulful 'qawwali' rendered by Javed Ali with Swanand and Chopra collaborating on the words. 'Tere Liye Mere Kareem' is a haunting 'gaana' that would make more sense within the film's context than as a standalone piece of music.
Title track 'Mastizaade' has the popular line from 'Sholay' that goes: 'Basanti, in kutton ke saamne mat naachna' re-worded as 'Basanti in kutton ke saamne hi naachna'. The attempt by Meet Bros Anjjan to make it retro fails. 'Kamina Hai Dil' is a disco song with blatantly sensational lyrics and Benny Dayal singing with the composers Meet Bros Anjjan. "Album: Wazir Composers: Shantanu Moitra, Ankit Tiwari, Rochak Kohli, Advaita, Prashant Pillai, Gaurav Godkhindi Music: T-Series Price: Rs 175 Bollywood: This soundtrack has a total of five different composers while lyrically, there's Manoj Muntashir, Swanand Kirkire, AM Turaz, Abhijeet Deshpande and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Opening number 'Tere Bin' has Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal on the mike.
Unfortunately, Palak Muchhal has limited scope in the song, but she manages to leave a haunting impact with her wonderful voice. More than the vocals, the song works because of its strong musical arrangement. Kheech Meri Photo, sung by Darshan Raval and Neeti Mohan, is a fun and peppy number. This song is right out of Neeti's comfort space and Akasa Singh, along with Darshan, support her ably. This song definitely has repeat value. The next track on the album, Ek Number, is a decent attempt at fusion.
Nayyar used the Asha Bhosle-Mohammad Rafi duo for his most popular duets such as "Ude Jab Jab Zulfein Teri" (Naya Daur), "Main Pyaar Ka Rahi Hoon" (Ek Musafir Ek Haseena), "Deewana Hua Baadal" and '"Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein" (Kashmir Ki Kali).
Asha recorded her last song for O. P. Nayyar in the movie Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye (1974). The solo number "Chain Se" got many awards, but it was not included in the movie.

In multi-cultural India, as per film historian Partha Chatterjee, "the Hindi film song cut through all the language barriers in India, to engage in lively communication with the nation where more than twenty languages are spoken and . scores of dialects exist". Bollywood music has drawn its inspiration from numerous traditional sources such as Ramleela, nautanki, tamasha and Parsi theatre, as well as from the West, Pakistan, and other Indic musical subcultures.
For over five decades, these songs formed the staple of popular music in South Asia and along with Hindi films, was an important cultural export to most countries around Asia and wherever the Indian diaspora had spread.
